This has raised plenty of questions, and we have been busy doing our homework. Our goal from the outset has been to provide the safest choice on the market for your baby’s health. The study appears to be concerned with soaps, and singles out Sodium Lauryl Sulphate, a common offender in lists of ingredients to avoid in cosmetic products. We use a small amount of Decyl Glucoside in our wipes formula, which is not a soap – it is a mild, non-toxic surfactant. If you are concerned about preventing your child from developing allergies but still want to use baby wipes, we are confident our wipes are the best choice available on the market.
It is great to see articles like this being published, as raising awareness about the effects of chemicals on our babies is a big positive. How many other problems could chemicals be causing our babies that we don’t yet know about? Our ingredients are proven to be super-safe, and while we cannot claim they are 100% safe with respect to allergy prevention, such a claim is impossible to make at this stage.
