When Leanne and I set out to create the Joonya brand in 2016, we knew we were going to do many products. While it has taken us a lot longer than we hoped to get nappies off the ground, we are excited to say the launch of Joonya Eco Nappies is not far away!
Our customers trust Joonya to create premium, stylish products at the most affordable price. As we did for our wipes, we scoured a long list of global manufacturers to find the one that would meet our demanding customers’ needs. It turns out our nappies manufacturer is based in Europe, an area known for creating high quality products.
First and foremost our nappies had to be high performing. In formal testing, we are proud to say our nappies are ahead of other major brands in Australia and we are highly confident we will meet or exceed our customers’ expectations of a dry and happy baby for the all important overnight sleep. Patented absorbency technology in our nappies has put us ahead of the competition in this regard.
Secondly, our nappies had to be non-toxic and use materials that minimise their impact on the planet. The health of our babies and mother earth is a huge priority for mums in Australia, and we have designed our nappy to include the best combination of materials to satisfy this.
Lastly, our nappies had to be affordable. Life is expensive these days, and most parents are looking to save where they can. Our direct-to-consumer, bulk-buying model will ensure our customers are receiving a premium nappy that is more affordable than other comparable offerings. It will be only slightly more expensive than the mass consumer brands run by faceless multinationals who use questionable materials to maximise returns to shareholders.
So, when is the launch? Our best guess is March 2019. We’ll certainly keep you up to date on the progress as we go. Around the launch of our nappies we will also be going live with our new, uber cool website. The Joonya brand is evolving quickly, and our future direction is very exciting.
To better manage the next phase of our growth, Leanne and I are moving back from Bali to the Northern Beaches area of Sydney – where Leanne grew up! We are super excited to be in such a beautiful part of Australia, and one where our customer list is so strong. We look forward to meeting many of you in our daily life and building a community.
